About Krista Moore

Meet Krista Moore
Welcome to my Educational and Professional Journey!
Krista Moore here, and I am thrilled to share my personal blog with you. This is where I write about all my new personal and professional developments, and offer insights into my educational journey. Join me on this journey of personal growth.
I am committed to demonstrating daily integrity, patient advocacy, ongoing learning, and fostering positive relationships in all areas of my life. I aim to provide high-quality care to those in need while promoting health and well-being in my community.
As a Primary Care Paramedic, I have been afforded the opportunity to work within the community to gain hands-on experience. This has allowed me to supplement my academic background with various emergency medical, traumatic, and behavioural situations.
I completed a five-year Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and History at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, in 2012. I have been involved in laboratory work specific to developmental psychology, motivation, and behavioural studies in rodent laboratories.
I began research in Cardiac Cath labs in 2006, and by 2009, I was accepted into a research position with Dr. Michael Chu of the London Health Sciences Centre. My research was accepted by the Canadian Cardiovascular Society in 2012 for oral presentation at the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress in Vancouver, BC.
Between my positions as a research associate and a Primary Care Paramedic, I worked as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative, selling medical products ranging from pain relief to colon preps to a heme-based iron supplementation product.
I am currently working towards obtaining my Master of Health Studies at Athabasca University. This program will help me develop leadership, understand the healthcare landscape in Canada, predict emerging trends, and prepare me for future roles within the healthcare sector.
I am a Mom, wife, and friend.
I am a Caucasian-Canadian woman of Scottish ancestry. I am in my late thirties, have an evolving political lens, and was raised and function in the upper middle class. I was not raised religious, but raised with an awareness of religion. I consider myself Agnostic because of this. I have worked in pharmaceutical sales and paramedicine. In the context of this course, I believe myself to be particularly naïve to the inequities others experience on an emotional level, but I am aware (though not with a full understanding) of the impacts of the icsystem. These outlooks have been influenced by my past and current careers, patient populations, and, specifically, interactions with emergency departments, involvement in community paramedicine, and COVID-19 task force work. I acknowledge my positionality as it stands and endeavour to use this exercise to engage in an evolving research practice.
I have created this online hub to document my journey through this program. I look forward to sharing this process with you!
